Let’s talk about #Inclusion and #Diversity
The project #YouProClima addresses #youth living in peripheral areas and supports them to overcome the barrier of spatial segregation which is characterized by economic and social inequity and disparity in access to infrastructure, services and livelihood opportunities.
The peripheral territories can be identified in any area of a country, regardless of it being a city, a metropolitan area or a rural village characterized by the following factors:
comparative lower income fewer non-formal education opportunities fewer organizations implementing local community engagement activities.
By developing #communityengagement skills of youth in those areas in fighting #climatechange the project promotes social inclusion and aims at improving the outreach to people living in socio-economic difficulties.
The project contributes to creating #inclusiveenvironments that foster #equity and #equality, and that are responsive to the needs of the wider community priorities (environmental #sustainability, community cohesion and #socialinclusion).
The #toolkit we are working on and that will be released soon will provide materials, information and guidelines for taking action with your organization or with your friends.
