The images of war and violence that sadly feed the news give a particular resonance to common European values, which are at the center of the VALUEBOX project. Human dignity, democracy, freedoms and justice are essential to guaranteeing lasting peace within and between States.
This article, published by the Council of Europe, sheds light on how to define the concepts of peace and violence, contextualize them and study their practical implications. Educational activities that can be carried out with young people on these themes are also available.
This particularly resonates within the VALUEBOX project as one of its main aims is to foster teachers’ knowledge, so to better integrate the common EU values (such as for example Freedom and Democracy) into their teaching curriculums.
